 🖋️   Gombaniya is the highest peak of the Knuckles Mountain Range and is situated in Matale. It stands at a height of 1906 meters and is situated at Alakola estate in Hulu Ganga, bordered by Knuckles-Kirigalpoththa and Yakunge Hela mountain ranges on either side. There are quite a few false peaks which some get confused with while on their way to hiking Gombaniya. It is said that the false peak is extremely windy. The well-known false peak of Gombaniya has huge slap rock with an amazing view. The true Gombaniya peak is situated about 500 m away from this false peak. The mountainside is covered with many trees and plants including thickly grown bamboo. A river named “Kuda Oya” flows between Gombaniya and Yakunge Hela.

 🖋️   Galle Fort  is  a fort built by  the Portuguese in  the Galle  region  of Sri Lanka . It was later modernized by  the Dutch  in the 17th century  and now boasts a history of 400 years. Currently, two gates are used to enter the fort. Many government office buildings have been maintained around the fort wall till today. But now they are being removed little by little.  🖋️   The  Kingdom of Polonnaruwa  ( Sinhala :  පොළොන්නරුව රාජධානිය ,  romanized:  Polonnaruwa Rājādhaniya ) was the  Sinhalese kingdom  that expanded across the island of  Sri Lanka  and several overseas territories, from 1070 until 1232. The kingdom started expanding its  overseas authority  during the reign of  Parakramabahu the Great .  🖋️  Ritigala  is a mountain in central  Sri Lanka  which is home to an ancient  Buddhist   monastery . The ruins and rock inscriptions of the monastery date back to 1st century BCE. It is located 43 km (27 mi) away from the ancient monastic city of  Anuradhapura . Ritigala mountain consists of four peaks which rise steeply from the surrounding plain. The mountain is 6.5 km in length, and divided into northern and southern blocks by Maha-Degala Gorge. The highest peak is Ritigala Kanda in the southern block. At 766 m (2,513 ft) above  sea level , and 600 m (2,000 ft) above the surrounding plains, Ritigala is the highest mountain in northern part of Sri Lanka. Hulangala Mini World’s End at Selagama

 🖋️  In addition to the popular World’s End at Horton Plains, there are a number of lesser-known precipices with spectacular views of the surrounding area. Called mini worlds ends, they are Madulsima in Pitamaruwa, Pitawala Pathana in Riverstone, Deanston in Hunnasgiriya, and Hulangala in Selagama. Hulangala Mini Worlds End lies at the southern end of the Knuckles mountain range in the Selagama estate which can be reached from either Kurunegala or Matale. From Kurunegala, travel towards Dambulla up to Thalgodapitiya Junction and turn to Yatawatta road. The total distance is about 40km. To travel from Matale, you need to turn off at Palathwela to reach Yatawatta. From  Yatawatta, take the road towards Selagama estate. At the estate entrance, you are charged LKR 100 per person and LKR 250 for a vehicle. From the line houses of Selagama estate, you can hike for 2-3 km to reach the viewpoint.
