Wedihiti Kanda ⛰


Wedihiti Kanda (Wedahiti Kanda) is a rocky mountain about 3.5 km from the famous Kataragama Devalaya. Except for Kataragama Deva-laya and Sella Kataragama, Wedihiti Kanda is one of the most popular destinations for pilgrims to Kataragama. Although not much of its history is known, this mountain is buried deep in folklore, all connected to the deity of Kataragama.

Duration: 45 minutes

 🖋️   As you travel from Kandy towards Mahiyanganaya on the A25 (known as the Mahiyangana Road) you can see this massive cluster of waterfalls known as the Kalugala Gerandi Ella Waterfall on the left side lying far away towards Kalugala. There are several narrow and long waterfalls in Sri Lanka by the name of Garandi Ella which means Rat Snake Waterfall.
