 πŸ–Š️   Mihintale  is a mountain peak near  Anuradhapura  in  Sri Lanka . It is believed by Sri Lankans to be the site of a meeting between the Buddhist monk  Mahinda  and King  Devanampiyatissa  which inaugurated the presence of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. It is now a pilgrimage site, and the site of several religious monuments and abandoned structures. Approximately 12.5 km (7.8 mi) east of  Anuradhapura , close to the  Anuradhapura  -  Trincomalee  Road is situated the "Missaka Pabbata" which is 1,000 feet (300 m) in height and is one of the peaks of a mountainous range.  πŸ–‹️ The Miracle of the Pekoe Trail The Pekoe Trail is a wonderful idea by Miguel Cunat. He is an expert in such creative endeavors and a creative person with a special interest in Sri Lanka. Neboda Rannagala Ella Waterfall Sri Lanka Tourist Place

  πŸ–‹️  This small  Rannagala Ella  Waterfall is located in the village of Rannagala in Neboda in Kalutara district. The waterfall is approx 6 meters in height and is best seen during the rainy season. You can reach this waterfall from Matugama or Neboda. From Matugama town it’s 5.7 km distance on the Neboda road. Alternatively, you could travel to Neboda from Kalutara and travel 3.5 km on the Matugama road to reach the waterfall. Although the waterfall is small, there is a natural pool at the top which has been improved by building a pond for bathing. At the bottom too another pool has been constructed for bathing. Therefore this has become a popular bathing place for visitors.

 πŸ–‹️  Sera Ella  is a waterfall located in Pothatawela village, a place near Laggala in the  Matale District  of  Sri Lanka . It is formed by the waters of Kitul Canal which runs down Kaudagammana peak and the Hunumadala River, which flows from the mountains of Gonamada and Deyuthu Gammmaduwa, combining to form the Puwakpitiya River, a waterway which joins Thelgamu Oya to create the waterfall at its point of joining.  πŸ–Š️  The  Udawalawe Dam  is a large irrigation dam in  Udawalawe , in the  Southern Province  of  Sri Lanka . The dam consists of an  embankment  section and a  gravity  section, combining the total dam length to approximately 3.9 km (2.4 mi). The dam is also used for  hydroelectric  power generation, powering two  2  MW  units, commissioned in April 1969 .  πŸ–‹️   Diva Guhava  is the only place of  Solosmasthana  which has not been properly identified. It is said in Mahavamsa, that after preaching dhamma to the deity Sumana Saman at  Sri Pada mountain , he spent the day in the Diva Guhava Cave on the side of this mountain. During his lifetime, Buddha visited the island of Sri Lanka three times. These visits are described in detail in the  Mahavamsa , the Great Chronicle of Sri Lanka, and in ancient writings such as  Pujavaliya ,  Samantapasadika , and  Buthsarana  also mention these visits. These sixteen places hallowed by Buddha are collectively called  Solosmasthana .  πŸ–‹️   The breathtaking Pahanthudawa Falls is situated about 2 km from the small town of Belihuloya in 19 km off Balangoda on the A4 road. This is the last one of a series of waterfalls created by Belihul Oya before it streams into Samanala wewa Reservoir. This waterfall creates a small but deep pool at the bottom which is said to be of immeasurable depth and is in a shape of wick of a lamp- helps deriving it name (pahana – a lamp). To reach the falls, one should travel about 1.5 km on Ihala Galagama road starting from famous Belihuloya Rest house and follow the road leading to mini hydro power plant. Witnessing the falls is quite challenging as one must have to cross the stream and follow the steep valley upstream.

 πŸ–‹️  Located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka - Rangala Natural Pool | Rangala Natural Pool  After passing the city of Kandy and passing the town of Teldeniya on the Mahiyanganaya - Kandy road, you will find the road leading to this Rangala village. This pool is located at a short distance of about 37Km from Kandy. If you are going in a private vehicle, you can go quickly. If you are using public transport, you should go to Teldeniya from Kandy and from there take a bus to Rangala or Poddalgoda. This natural pool is a very famous place in this Rangala village, which has a beautiful environment. It is also a place where 35 people have lost their lives while bathing in it.  This is not a place for bathing, but if you can't swim, don't go in...  πŸ–‹️   As you travel from Kandy towards Mahiyanganaya on the A25 (known as the Mahiyangana Road) you can see this massive cluster of waterfalls known as the Kalugala Gerandi Ella Waterfall on the left side lying far away towards Kalugala. There are several narrow and long waterfalls in Sri Lanka by the name of Garandi Ella which means Rat Snake Waterfall. The resemblance of these waterfalls to a slithering rat snake has given rise to many waterfalls being called by this name. The most popular and the well-known is the  Gerandi Ella ( aka Gerandigini Ella) in the Tawalantanna area .  πŸ–‹️  Thunhisgala, or somebody called Kalupahana, is the 6 th  highest peak in the Knuckles Mountain range. It divides both Kandy and Matale districts, where it is situated on the border. The highest point of this mountain is 1617m above sea level. Thunhisgala is not a famous destination among most Sri Lankan travelers. But it is very popular among local hikers and mountaineers. Location Thunhisgala is situated in the middle of the Knuckles Forest Range, where it is extremely difficult to reach. There are three main routes you can choose to do the hike: Thunhisgala Hike There is no public transportation available on each of the above routes.
